Pregnancy
everything you do... your baby's doing too
When you are pregnant it is especially important to take good care of yourself and make healthy choices about your lifestyle. Pregnancy is a time when it seems easier to make the lifestyle changes you have been wanting to make for awhile.
Activities such as:
- regular visits to your doctor or midwife
- eating a healthy diet
- avoiding stress
- avoiding substances that can cause harm
- getting enough rest
- having supportive people around you
all contribute to your own health and your baby’s health as your body changes during pregnancy.
To find out more about the changes you will experience during your pregnancy, refer to Baby’s Best Chance Parent’s Handbook of Pregnancy & Baby Care. These books are available to you at no charge from your doctor or midwife, prenatal classes or the Prenatal Registry.
Your body needs certain nutrients more than others. Find out what they are, and make sure you're eating right with Eat Well, Live Well.
If you decide you want to make lifestyle changes but don't know where to start, talk to your doctor or midwife, or call the Prenatal Registry.
